Abstract

The article discusses the main pedagogical skills of a teacher in a higher education institution and the significance of individual competencies for the success of the teaching process. It analyzes the specifics of distance education in modern conditions, including the resources and challenges of teaching in light of the digitization of the educational process in higher education institutions. Furthermore, the article reveals the peculiarities of students' perception of the role of a teacher in the higher education learning process and their evaluation of the importance of individual components of the teacher's pedagogical skills, based on a survey of students.
