PHILOSOPHICAL BASIS FOR BUSINESS THROUGH THE GAME THEORY PRISM

Abstract

The article is devoted to analyses of the main categories of game theory and its practical significance for business practicesbecause of its importance for economic culture development in modern Ukraine. So the main aim of this research is defining the game theory role in understanding the essence of such kind of social activity as business. The tasks are to analyse content, genesis and specific features of business practices. Research methods are systemic and structural analysis in conjunction with an interdisciplinary approach. Research results. We use term "game" in the context of any situation that requires strategic thinking and as a synonym of significant social interaction. An aim of such games is search and application of effective strategies. That is why it is so important for researching of such kind of social activity as business. By its form and essential features, business is a strategic game that includes multifactorial possibilities for the selection and implementation of competitive (win/lose or lose/lose) or cooperative (win-win) strategies. Discussion. We also emphasized that the strategies involved in business are significant for development of the economic culture and social environment as a whole, what is actually confirmed by Western author’s works. Conclusion. From the very beginning game theory was the branch of mathematics, that studies choice of optimal strategies in conflict situations. However, its contemporary version in combination with behavioural economy, has formed fundamentally new dimensions and opportunities for using its potential. It’s not just about working with non-competitive interaction, but involvement of gaming patterns in the process of doing business, i.e. attracting customers to create products and new values, which are changing the structure of companies and organizations. According to this, we concluded that the prospects for the further use of game theory’s tools in analysing Industry’s 4.0 innovative trends creates new opportunities for further development both game theory and its strategic potential for business development in the future. At the same time, modern business found itself today in the situation of new civilization challenges: the crisis unfolds both on the financial and global economy (transport, garbage and all environmental infrastructure) levels, that requires its full technological upgrading. So the key tasks for modern business, as a sphere of initiative innovative activity, are making significant adjustments to the rules of social interaction, which include the creation of strategies to conserve resources and renovation of global infrastructure, and therefore transformation of cultural, economic and political life scenarios, inherent for contemporarysocieties.
