APPLICATION OF IMAGE-GENERATING NEURAL NETWORKS IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY (ON THE EXAMPLE OF MIDJOURNEY)

Image-generating neural networks (in particular, Midjourney) are becoming an increasingly popular tool among fashion brands and magazines. This topic reflects modern opportunities and prospects and is an extremely relevant area for scientific research. However, this area is still under-researched in the Ukrainian scientific community. This is especially true for the use of image-generating neural networks in the fashion industry. Despite the active involvement of tools such as Midjourney in real-world practice, academic research on this topic remains limited.Purpose. The article aims to establish how image-generating neural networks can be useful in the field of fashion design. The article analyzes the scientific literature on artificial intelligence in general and generative neural networks in particular.Methodology. The main areas of use of generative neural networks in the fashion industry were traced by classification and visual comparison.Results. The study found that generative neural networks in the global fashion industry are most often used at the stage of developing collection sketches and presenting finished fashion products. Scientific novelty. Tools, such as the Midjourney neural network, are actively used in practice, but their impact on the industry has not yet been the subject of systematic scientific research.Practical relevance. The results of the study reveal the capabilities of generative neural networks and can be useful in design practices and the educational process, as it is very important for future fashion designers to understand innovation.
