Abstract

The article examines such architectural objects as pavilions in their historical development. Each country has its own national heritage, which through the centuries reveals the beauty of the culture of any country. Pavilions of China are a story that is carefully continued to be protected by new generations. However, there is a lack of scientific analysis of the systematization of aspects characteristic of the Chinese culture of building pavilions. The purpose of the study is to highlight the varieties of ancient pavilions in relation to their functional purpose and their compliance with national Chinese cultural and artistic traditions. Methodology. Thanks to the use of the method of analysis and synthesis, a classification of pavilions existing in the past in China has been determined. The article examines: their location, functional purpose and various types of form formation. A comprehensive and systematic approach helped to identify the characteristic features of the pavilions, which was also carried out through the study of historical and art historical sources and visual material of the currently existing pavilions “ting”. Results. The results of the study may indicate consistent changes in the constructive solution of the pavilions in relation to their constant development and changes in the use of materials for their construction. The scientific novelty of the obtained research results lies in the fact that the proposed classification of pavilions ting allows us to verify the nature of changes in their functional purpose in the future and contribute to understanding the need for a more detailed study on the proposed topic, taking into account changes in the materials of their construction and simplification of the constructive system.Practical relevance. The systematization of the materials of the article will allow us to use them during classes in professional disciplines in specialized higher institutions and identify the features of the constructive changes of the pavilions for the possibility of their restoration and the creation of new structures in the future – with the possibility of preserving the national heritage of the country.
