INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY AS SOCIAL CONTEXTS IN THE WORK OF FASHION DESIGNERS

Abstract

The purpose: to analyze and systematize information on inclusiveness and diversity as social contexts in the work of Ukrainian and foreign fashion designers; to study the collections of designers and identify the main features that emphasize conceptuality; to determine the impact of this issue on society. The research methodology is based on a theoretical method based on a systematic approach, methods of analysis and synthesis. The literature review is carried out using the methods of comparative and system-structural analysis. Results. The role of inclusiveness and diversity as social contexts in the work of Ukrainian and foreign fashion designers is investigated. The creativity of modern brands is characterized, and it is found that they are aware of the importance of creating clothes that are suitable for different body types, abilities and cultural traditions, thereby reflecting the inclusiveness observed in society. The main features that emphasize the conceptuality of each brand are identified. It has been established that inclusiveness in the fashion industry at the present stage demonstrates growing popularity and active development, which are caused by integrated approaches to production, marketing and consumer perception. The scientific novelty is a systematic analysis of the results of the work of Ukrainian and foreign designers in creating inclusive clothing that takes into account different body types, abilities and cultural traditions, which is confirmed by conceptual elements. The active development of inclusiveness in the fashion industry has been revealed thanks to the support of consumers and manufacturers. Practical significance. The results of the scientific article can be used as a basis for further research in the field of fashion, fashion design, social sciences and cultural studies. In addition, they can be used by fashion designers to develop and produce inclusive and diverse collections that meet the needs of different social groups and body types.
