ified national characteristics in the modern design of Chinese-style restaurants, to analyze, using well-known examples, which elements and figurative motives are most often used and in buildings of what functional purpose. This will determine whether the application of national features in modern architecture of China against the background the spread of international trends in architecture, construction and design. An important task is to confirm the hypothesis that in modern architecture in China, the national color is used in public buildings intended for tourists.Methodology. In article used the the traditional scientific methods of historic analysis, comparative analysis and system-structural analysis. Results. The article argued that in the context of the trends of globalism in modern architecture, the degree of use of elements and features that represent modern architecture decreases.Basically, the citation of national Chinese signs occurs fragmentarily in the exterior and in the interior, at the level of individual characteristic details, such as windows, entrances, curved roofs, sculptural images. If we analyze the ways of using national motives in Chinese restaurants, then this is the application of the principles of zoning and furnishing according to Feng Shui, the zoning of the interior space with screens, the use of traditional natural materials such as bamboo, stone, wood, paper, ceramics. The color scheme allows for variety with the use of red, orange, gold, green, black and white. In contrast to the Japanese style in modern national food practices, the Chinese style provides for detail, splendor, ornamentation and bright polychromy. Today, two directions of design in the Chinese style are possible: either literally recreate the classical Chinese interior, inclusive of detail, or simplify it by using only certain iconic motifs associated with China.Scientific novelty. It has been proven that the modern application of national Chinese motives is limited mainly to public buildings aimed at visiting tourists. In this case, the Chinese signs do not literally correspond to their historical counterparts, resembling them in general terms, and play the role of a tourist attraction. Practical significance. The study allows us to analyze the non-similarity of the content of the historical style features of traditional Chinese architecture and modern interiors and exteriors, modified in accordance with the function, designed to maximize the expression of belonging to China, taking into account the economic rationale. Despite the use of Chinese-style ornaments, designs and furnishings, this design cannot be judged on a par with the decor of the Gugong imperial ensemble in Beijing, as well as with historical temples and monasteries, where decoration elements are works of art. The fact that the modern architecture of China is gradually moving away from tradition towards internationalism, and modern buildings no longer have national signs, testifies to the commonality of tendencies with other developed countries of the world.References
