Abstract

Every foreign student who enters a higher education institution of Ukraine is a representative of a certain country with a special mentality, psychological processes, a unique perception of the environment and a new socio-cultural circle. All this must be taken into account for the successful management of the educational process among English-speaking students. Arriving to study directly in the first year of medical university, in addition to basic disciplines (medical biology, medical chemistry, physics, human anatomy, etc.), they study Ukrainian and Russian for the next 3 years as a means of adaptation and survival in a new linguistic and sociocultural environment, and further – participation in practical classes on the basis of the clinic, including communication with patients. The best choice today is English. It should be noted that a significant number of students from Southeast Asia, some states of India, Africa have poor command of English. The most important factor to which foreign students need to adapt is the educational process, as education itself is the main purpose of the arrival of foreigners in Ukrainian higher education institutions. A foreign citizen who comes to study at a higher educational institution of another country is an established personality who needs to adapt to new, unusual traditions, norms of behavior, language, culture. In our opinion, speaking about the education of foreign students, it is advisable to consider the processes of social adaptation to the new environment, because the primary goal of foreign citizens is to obtain higher education. Assimilation of local culture, norms of behavior, peculiarities of communication at the regional level is sufficient to ensure the full life of foreign students in Ukraine.
