Abstract

The article discusses the basics of the movement of arts and crafts.

Scientific novelty lies in examining the reasons for the creation of the movement and in the creative search for similarities between the art movement and the perception of minimalism at the time and our modern vision. The elements of the "arts and crafts" movement and their influence on subsequent generations of designers are revealed.

Additionally, the reasons for the occurrence of movement are shown and how much it is needed today. The article analyzes the transition from the excessive use of things and indicative luxury as opposed to a thoughtful laconic interior as a way of life.

The issue of the "Art & Crafts" movement as a forerunner of modernity is assessed
