In the article compositional peculiarities of slaves narratives 18-19centuries have been examined. It has been pointed out the importance ofabolitionist movement for the evolution of black writing. The author hassingledout the changes concerning the identity of the narrator. It has been summed upthat the inherent features of the early slave narratives of the nineteenth centurywere following: verbalization of the protest against slavery, ambivalence oftestimony, intensive incorporation of Judeo-Christian mythology.References
