The article reveals the views and practical experience of the authors regarding the conditions for increasing the motivation of cadets of higher military educational institutions to study with the formation of the individual's ability to independent high-level motivation throughout the military professional activity. In the conditions of a fierce struggle against the onslaught of the aggressor, the process of motivation acquired new components related to the natural growth of patriotism and the responsibility of teachers and cadets for the results of military-professional education. Possible ways of solving the problem are considered both in the aspect of known methods and means of motivation, which have proven their effectiveness in the system of higher military education, and in the aspect of some author's innovations, which are recognized as worthy of wide familiarization.
