In the article the basic theoretical issues related to problems of interpretation, intertextual relations and the reception of art that are prerequisites for the creation of a literary text. The problem of literary tradition, analyze the reception of art historical figures that allow visualized the formation of hereditary ties in Ukrainian literature. Determined that the scientific principle of intertextuality can provide literary tradition in its procedural, rather than static characteristics, consider the inherent mental traits and the full range of external influences.
