PERIPHRASIS IN MODERN POLITICAL DISCOURSE (ON THE MATERIALS OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA)

The article deals with periphrasis that functions in modern politicaldiscourse of Internet-editions. The structural-semantic, stylistic and textualfeatures of periphrasis constructions were analyzed.Mass media is a rapid dissemination of information, active influence onthe mind, the emotions of readers, listeners, persuasion of their veracity, thereliability of these facts and, consequently, the formation of public opinion andencouraging the activity. Today electronic media perform this function, becausethey are the most affordable, they provide speed information communicationfor the numerous audience. Most of us are directly involved in the sociopoliticaldiscourse. Political discourse is a set of linguistic acts, spoken inpublic by politicians, public figures, presented in publications in mass media,propaganda, Internet communications, etc.References
