SOCIOCULTURAL ASPECT IN THE STUDY OF CULTURAL STEREOTYPE

Used extensively in linguistic works interdisciplinary term “stereotype” urges the study of mechanisms and patterns of language representation of stereotyping. The most widely explored is a psychological facet of the stereotype. In social psychology, a stereotype is acknowledged as inalienable element of individual or group evaluative perception that fulfills regulative function (I. Kon, R.Taguiri, J. H. Turner, S. Moscovici). The content of a stereotype is stored and communicated in the society via language means.References
