Abstract

Used extensively in linguistic works interdisciplinary term “stereotype” urges the study of mechanisms and patterns of language representation of stereotyping. The most widely explored is a psychological facet of the stereotype. In social psychology, a stereotype is acknowledged as inalienable element of individual or group evaluative perception that fulfills regulative function (I. Kon, R.Taguiri, J. H. Turner, S. Moscovici). The content of a stereotype is stored and communicated in the society via language means.
