DETERMINATION OF THE AREA OF BEAT FLOODS BURNING USING REMOTE SENSING DATA

Abstract

The possibility of using remote sensing data to detect peatland burning zones was investigated. The area near the village of Chaplyntsi, Poltava region, which was affected by a fire in September 2023, was considered as the object of the study. Using ArcGIS, using the NDVI and BAI indices, as well as combining spectral channels, damage zones were identified and the extent of the fire was estimated.
