Abstract

The paper examines the problem of soil degradation in Ukraine as a threat to environmental safety. The main causes are analyzed: erosion, salinization, pollution, loss of fertility. Emphasis is placed on anthropogenic factors. Environmental risks are outlined and ways to minimize them are proposed: sustainable land use, agroecological monitoring, conservative technologies, sustainable development, land protection, monitoring.
