Abstract

Low-yielding lands of Ukraine have significant potential for the development of bioenergy without removing fertile lands from the food cycle. Attracting about 1 million hectares of such territories for growing energy crops will contribute to energy security, restoration of degraded lands and activation of rural communities. This is an important step towards sustainable development and diversification of the country's energy balance.
