The impact of AI on the current state of cybersecurity is determined in the work; the use of AI in cybersecurity tools such as intrusion detection and prevention systems, that provide comprehensive protection of networks against attacks, is considered; a comparative analysis of IDS and IPS systems was carried out; the expediency of their use, common characteristics, advantages and disadvantages are determined
