The article investigates the impact of various external factors on the corrosion resistance of metal structures treated by hot-dip galvanizing. The main methods of galvanizing are described, along with their advantages and disadvantages. An experimental study of the corrosion of zinc coatings on steel under different environmental conditions, such as water, salt solution, and acidic medium, was conducted. It was found that the presence of salt does not significantly affect corrosion processes compared to distilled water, while an acidic environment significantly accelerates the corrosion of the zinc coating.
