Abstract

Coating makes possible to obtain the necessary performance characteristics of parts, as well as to reduce the consumption of scarce and expensive metals. At the same time the crucial for the capability level of a complex coating is the nature of the binding the components of the coating, as well as the coating and the base part. Coating adhesion depends on the strength of binding with the substrate and the microstructure of the interface. The cause of the high-temperature peak is strain relaxation at the interface coating-base. However, the presence of different phases limits shear in the contact zone, the external stresses can relax only partially and a new energy absorption peak appears on the temperature dependence curve of internal friction. The presence of solid particles on nanoscale metal matrix coatings can significantly improve the mechanical and chemical properties.
