The article defines the conditions for the formation and development of cognitive professionally important qualities of the future nanotechnologist during the fundamentalization of his professional training. Based on research on personality theory, creativity theory and psychological models of knowledge representation, the psychological foundations of developing a methodological system of fundamental professional training of future nanotechnologists for productive professional activities in the synthesis of new nanomaterials are substantiated.
