Motivational factors for choosing a specialty by freshmen of specialties 192 «Construction and Civil Engineering» and 208 «Agroengineering» of Lutsk National Technical University were determined. Gender differences were established both among internal factors due to the desire for professional self-affirmation, and among the importance of external reasons for choosing a specialty related to financial factors or the desire to avoid military service.
