The purpose: to analyze scientific approaches to the problem of management of a social worker
and the peculiarities of its formation. Investigate the formation of management activities in students majoring in “Social Work”. Modern realities require from the employee the formed leadership position and experienced readiness to organize working hours, productive solution of professional tasks, realization of the desire for social change, acquired key competencies for management activities in social institutions. Qualified performance of professional duties by a social worker is considered by colleagues as an indicator of successful management, and accordingly - this specialist later performs the role of head of a social institution. Therefore, the formation of leadership qualities and leadership style are necessary components of professional training of future social workers. Important personal characteristics of the leader are communicative skills to motivate (motivate) the team to initiative, creative performance of duties, achieving quality results, to provide a friendly atmosphere. The purpose of the article is to investigate and analyze the degree of leadership style in students majoring in "Social Work" and to identify their level of readiness for effective management in social institutions. Research methodology. The study of leadership style in students majoring in "Social Work" was carried out on the basis of the National Aviation University (Kyiv) (hereinafter - NAU) and aimed at identifying management tools and methods of influence that will be used by graduates / graduates of technical universities at the initial stage of professional activity. Results. Important are the positive socio-perceptual perception of the teacher and students, as well as the organization of social self-presentation of the student as a leader of their own professional activities, colleagues in the workforce and the head of the social institution. Conclusions. Thus, we trace the causal relationship between the formed and implemented in practice competencies for solving professional situational problems by the head of a social institution. The attributive approach to the management is realized on the basis of the formed competences of leadership and the decision of problem situations (managerial, professional)
