The article presents the results of theoretical and empirical study of the main characteristics of the competent interaction of the aircraft crew in conditions of emotional tension. The purpose of the article was to substantiate the necessary characteristics for the competent interaction of the aircraft crew. The necessary characteristics of the crew for competent interaction include: emotional intelligence, as an indicator of a person’s ability to communicate, the ability to be aware of own emotions and understand the feelings of others; the ability to communicate effectively, such as exchanging information, understanding the emotions and intentions of people who communicate, because it is necessary to be able to listen so as to understand the full meaning of what is being said and make another person feel listened to and understood; positive microclimate in the team as an indicator of cohesion, mutual support and mutual respect in the team.
An empirical study of the main characteristics of competent interaction development level was conducted on the flight crew of Wizz Air airlines using standardized psychological techniques: “Diagnosis of emotional intelligence” (of N. Hall), which determined emotional awareness, managing of own emotions (emotional attenuation, emotional non-rigidity), self-motivation (arbitrary control of own emotions), empathy (recognition of other people’s emotions, the ability to influence the emotional state of others); “Level of sociability” of V.F. Rakhovsky, to establish the general level of sociability of respondents; questionnaire to determine the level of microclimate in the team.
As a result of empirical research, it was determined that the competent interaction of the team depends on the level of development of emotional intelligence, the level of sociability and the microclimate in the crew. For high efficiency, crew members must be with a high level of emotional intelligence, with a high and medium level of sociability, which guarantees an adequate level of favorable microclimate in the team. The data obtained by us meet the requirements for the main professionally important qualities of aviation workers, presented in professional profiles and approved by ICAO standardsReferences
