The article explores the problem of contemporary education: what subjects and methods should be in the core of today’s teaching process under the conditions of digital revolution, globalization and consolidation of the system of pragmatic values. The authors analyse the essense of the “usefull” knowledge concept and its role in further progress of civilization as correlated with creative thinking and the development of of contemporary education.
