SMART CITY (SMART BUILDING) AND ITS ENERGY COMPONENT: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

In this article there are researched definition and essence of smart city (smart building) concept. There are defined the basic principles and problems of smart city (smart building) concept realization. The drivers, advantages and benefits of usual cities transition into smart ones are analyzed. In particular, there is focus on energy and environmental issues of smart cities (smart buildings). There are considered the main European Union achievements at supporting smart cities concept. Particular examples of European smart cities are analyzed and their relevance and efficiency are summarized. There is researched the experience of Japan, the USA and China in the field of smart city (smart building) development. The current state of smart city concept development in Ukraine is characterized in terms of solving energy problems. There are outlined the perspectives and main goals of the structure transition in the smart cities development field in Ukraine till 2020.
