INFLUENCE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF UKRAINIAN ENTERPRISES

The aspects of development of the environmental management system in the world economy are considered. The importance of the environmental management system as an important and universal tool for increasing competitiveness, both at the level of the enterprise, the industry, and, in general, the economies of individual countries is underlined. Particular attention is paid to the international standards ISO 14000 and ISO 14001. The state and barriers to the implementation of the environmental management system in the activities of national enterprises are determined. The strategic priorities of the state environmental policy of Ukraine are substantiated.
