THREE-COMPONENT BITUMEN COMPOSITION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ROLLED ROOFING MATERIALS

The article proposes a method for obtaining a bitumen composition that can be used as the basis for cold-applied rolled roofing material. This type of material for arranging roofs is widespread in the construction of industrial and civil structures. The advantage of cold-applied bitumen roofing materials is that they are easily applied to the surface, do not require special surface preparation and have a relatively low cost, a short period of preparatory work and ease of repair. Previously, three-component bitumen compositions were developed, which include bitumen, rubber or rubber crumb and linseed oil. However, linseed oil is quite expensive and is produced in limited quantities. Therefore, it was important to replace it with a cheaper and more affordable one. The basis for the preparation of three-component bitumen compositions was construction bitumen of the BN 70/30 brand. The component that served to give the composition adhesive properties was rapeseed oil. The Kraton D1192ESM modifier was used as a plasticizer. The influence of the content of components on the main properties of the three-component bitumen composition "bitumen: rapeseed oil: SBS" was studied. A method for obtaining a three-component bitumen composition for the production of cold-applied rolled roofing materials was developed, which meets all the requirements for these materials. The optimal composition of such a mixture was established: bitumen BN 70/30 - 78.5% wt., rapeseed oil - 12.5% wt., SBS - 5.0% wt. and optimal conditions for obtaining: temperature 180°С and duration 1 hour. The developed bitumen composition for cold-applied roofing material meets all the requirements for materials of this type.
