Abstract

The problem of propagation of a shock wave from a point explosion inside a cavity with a power-law density distribution is considered. Using the Kompaneets approximation, the exact analytical solution, describing a shock front, is obtained. It is shown, that an asymmetrical shapes of some supernovae remnants could be explained by non-central supernova explosion within a cavity, formed by stellar wind of a progenitor star.
