Abstract

A number of new solutions for a static spherically symmetric distributions of anisotropic matter in general relativity are derived and investigated. The energy density is assumed to be constant. The solutions with various equations of state for the stresses are derived. Some of the solutions can be matched with the Schwarzschild exterior metric for empty space.
