Abstract

This article considers the current methods of monitoring and forecasting of forest fires. The technique of combining remote sensing data with meteorological data is proposed. The practicability of using remote sensing data in middle infrared range for defining of humidity level in vegetation is described. Examining the creation of geographic information system, which allows us make management decisions in forestry using the proposed methods to predict the fires.

Keywords: remote sensing, forest fires forecasting; geoinformation analysis; vegetation indexes; forestry
