Abstract

The similarity and difference in evolution of relativistic and nonrelativistic shock waves in medium with large-scale density gradient and initiation of profile anisotropy are investigated. The exponential density distribution is considered. The presence of shock wave profile and operation factors of flow anisotropy in nonrelativistic case are shown. The Lorentz-factor profile anisotropy in the relativistic case is emphasized but the shock wave profile in this case is approximately spherically symmetric.
