Non-linear waves in a gravitating gas

Abstract

Propagation of nonlinear adiabatic waves in a gas is shown to be possible due to self-gravitating of the gas. Hydrodynamic equations together with the Poisson’ equation lead to stationary solutions if the problem considered is not one-dimensional.
