The article reveals the views and practical experience of the authors regarding the use of 3D modeling technologies in the training of military specialists. The content of the very concept of 3D model is clarified. Possibilities, methodical innovations and ways of using 3D models for educational military-technical purposes are considered. It is noted that the possibility of free all-round study of the object of knowledge using a 3D model significantly facilitates the understanding and assimilation of educational material and promotes motivation and cognitive activity in the beginning. It is noted that the technologies of 3D educational models are usefully related to the technologies and methods of distance learning, as well as to the technologies of restoring weapons and military equipment. At the same time, certain problems and difficulties in the way of the spread of 3D model learning technologies are highlighted, as well as advice on ways and concrete ways to solve them is provided.
